UPDATE: Kurwongbah (near Petrie) - bushfire (as at 2.10pm)

Firefighters have successfully contained the bushfire burning in the vicinity of Theodore Road, Kurwongbah. Backburning operations have ceased in the area and crews will continue to monitor the situation throughout the afternoon and evening. This fire has been burning since Monday, 31 December in inaccessible land. Residents may still be impacted by smoke haze and are advised to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory illness, keep medication close by.
