UPDATE: Kurwongbah (near Petrie) - bushfire

Ten Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews are currently on scene at a bushfire located near Theodore Road, Kurwongbah. This fire has been burning since Monday, 31 December in inaccessible land. Firefighters are working to strengthen containment lines by conducting backburning operations and are expected to continue work in the Kurwongbah area throughout the day. There is no threat to property, however, residents will be impacted by smoke haze. Residents are advised to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory illness, keep medication close by. Motorists are urged to drive to conditions.
