Bluewater Park (Townsville) - grass fire

Twelve Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews are currently on scene at a grass fire burning near Blue Mountain Drive, Bluewater Park. Crews are conducting back burning operations to protect two properties in the vicinity of the fire at this time. The blaze is also in the vicinity of the Bluewater Air Strip. Residents are advised to be aware of firefighters working in the area and to monitor the situation. Residents who suffer from or are susceptible to respiratory illness are advised to close windows and doors and keep medication close by. If residents believe their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
