Smoke Alarm Legislation

As of 1 July 2007, all homes in Queensland are required to have smoke alarms installed.

Under the new legislation, landlords are required to have smoke alarms installed in their rental properties.  For more information see the Landlord Checklist.

The Real Estate Institute of Queensland has produced an information sheet to assist agents, landlords and tenants understand these new changes.
