To become a rural fire brigade volunteer, you must be at least 16 years of age and be available for training and operations in the local area.  You'll need to be physically fit and ready for a commitment.

To find the location and contact details for your local volunteer Rural Fire Brigade, please contact your nearest Area Office. Please note that volunteer Brigades operate outside of the Urban Fire Brigade area.  If you live in a major city or town in Queensland there may be no volunteer groups near you. 

You will be asked to submit an application form to the brigade secretary.  Forms are available from the local brigade.
