Important Information to Know
It is important to be aware of the following:
- the Fire Communications Centres are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- teach your children how to make an emergency call and the implications of making a hoax call including police attendance
- people who use a teletypewriter or computer with modem to access the telephone network (hearing or speech impairments) can call emergency services via the National Relay Service by dialling 106 (one zero six)
- calls to 000 and 106 are free
- the contents of calls to 000 and 106 are recorded and may be disclosed in accordance with relevant legislation
